PURPOSE:To thin a speed boundary layer and improve nozzle performance by providing a communicating hole in the wall face of a supersonic nozzle and communicating the face of a nozzle passage and the inside of a chamber. CONSTITUTION:High-pressure gas supplied from a high-pressure gas supply source 1 is expanded by means of a supersonic nozzle 3, jetted in a chamber 4 and a supersonic flow is produced at the outlet part of the nozzle 3. When the gas jetted in a free jet space of the inside of the chamber 4 from the nozzle 3 is sucked by means of a defuser 5, an ejector effect produces in the inside of the chamber 4 and the pressure in the chamber 4 is lower than that of the inside of the nozzle 3. Therefore a speed boundary layer grown in the neighborhood of the flow passage face of the nozzle 3 from a penetration hole 6 bored in the nozzle 3 is escaped in the inside of the chamber 4. Thereby the speed boundary layer grown in the neighborhood of the flow passage face of the nozzle 3 thins and the performance of the nozzle 3 is improved.
