METHOD AND DEVICE FOR STABILIZING POWER SYSTEM EMPLOYING VARIABLE SPEED SYNCHRONOUS MACHINE

PURPOSE:To enhance stability of a power system by employing a variable speed synchronous machine. CONSTITUTION:The stabilizing system comprises a variable speed machine 1 connected with a power system 5 and an excitation controller 10 for controlling the frequency, absolute magnitude and phase of the exciting voltage of the cariable speed machine 1. The excitation controller 10 controls the exciting voltage at first to regulate the output voltage to a reference voltage while furthermore controls the frequency of the exciting voltage to a slip frequency. Detection values of effective power of the variable speed machine 1 and a generator connected with a power system are then inputted and the phase angle of the exciting voltage is controlled so that the fluctuation of any one effective power goes zero. Alternatively, one of the detection values of reactive power and output voltage of the variable speed synchronous machine may be inputted to subject the absolute value of the exciting voltage to correction control so that the fluctuation of the reactive power or the output voltage goes to zero.
