PURPOSE: To provide an arc form discriminating method to easily evaluate the electrode of a vacuum interrupter. ;CONSTITUTION: By using a first filter 3 to transmit light with the wavelength except the bright line spectrum of an electrode composing material and a second filter 4 to transmit light with the wavelength of the bright line spectrum of the electrode composing material, the time alteration (a), (b) of the intensity of the light transmitted through each filter is observed and whether the fusion of electrodes occurs or not is determined.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
