METHOD FOR ADSORBING IONIC DYE DISSOLVED IN WATER

PURPOSE:To efficiently attain dyeing with a color tone of required density in a short time by dissolving an ionic dye in water, adding more than prescribed times as much silica gel as the dye to the water and bringing a fibrous material into contact with the resulting dyeing liq. CONSTITUTION:When a fibrous material is dyed with an ionic dye, the dye is dissolved in water by an amt. necessary for dyeing with a color tone of required density, more than about 3.5 times as much silica gel as the dye by weight is added to the water and the fibrous material is dyed with the resulting dyeing liq. Dyeing with a color tone of required density can be efficiently attained in a short time and the unreacted dye is nearly prevented from remaining in the residual dyeing liq.
