PURPOSE: To provide a method for maintaining the attitude of an orbiting satellite by calculating a disturbance torque to the disturbance of solar pressure. CONSTITUTION: The angle of attitude of the satellite is measured concerning a predetermined axis by an attitude sensor 34, this measured angle is supplied to a control system 36, the compensation control torque of this axis is calculated for correcting the attitude of the satellite on the said axis from a desired satellite attitude position, the discharging current of solar batteries is measured by a measuring instrument 46, and it is determined by a threshold logic circuit 48 whether the satellite is shielded from the sun or not. Then, an eclipse signal showing this determination is supplied to the control system for calculating a control torque updated in response to the eclipse signal so as to compensate for the lack of solar pressure onto the satellite, and the method is provided with a step for energizing a satellite 32 in response to the control torque by applying the control torque to a satellite energizing device 38.
