ANTISTATIC FRP MOLDING COMPOUND

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled colorable molding compound outstanding in antistatic capability, suitable for floor covering materials, gratings, etc., by incorporating a specific resin composition made up of unsaturated polyester, etc., with each specified amount of fibrous reinforcer, inorganic filler and organic peroxide. CONSTITUTION:The objective molding compound can be obtained by incorporating 100pts.wt. of a resin composition comprising (A) 50-85pts.wt. of an unsaturated polyester or vinyl ester, (B) 15-50pts.wt. of styrene monomer, and (C) 0.1-30(pref. 1-25)pts.wt. of a quaternary ammonium alkoxysulfate of formula (R1-R4 are each H or 1-24C alkyl; R5 is 1-24C alkyl or 1-8C alkoxy) with (D) 1-300(pref. 5-280)pts.wt. of fibrous reinforcer (e.g., glass fiber), (E) 1-400(pref. 5-350)pts.wt. of inorganic filler (e.g., calcium carbonate), and (F) 0.1-5(pref. 0.5-4)pts.wt. of an organic peroxide (e.g., of hydroperoxide base).
