PURPOSE: To provide a circular weft knitting machine capable of producing variegated knit products in high productivity. ;CONSTITUTION: A knitting needle 84 is vertically moved by the rotation of a knitting needle supporting cylinder 80 slidably holding plural knitting needles 84 in a number of parallel guiding grooves 82. The vertical motion is carried out by engaging a cam protrusion 304 under the knitting needle 84 with a cam orbit 340 on the inner side face of the outer stationary sleeve 86, thinning the intermediate main body part 308 of the knitting needle 84 to enable elastic bending of the main body part 308 and enabling the selective engagement and release of the cam protrusion 304 under the knitting needle 84 with the cam orbit 340 by the selective generation 400 of the bending of the main body part.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO
