WATER RECEIVING DEVICE FOR PRECIPITATION INTENSITY METER AND PRECIPITATION INTENSITY METER

PURPOSE:To measure precipitation intensity continuously by attaching a thin wire to the upper opening part of a water guiding pipe which is suspended from a water receiving part in a protruding pattern, and providing an air discharging part at the side surface of the water guide pipe. CONSTITUTION:A water guide pipe 2 is suspended from a water receiving part 1 which receives rainfall and snowfall. A heater 11 for melting the snow is provided at the lower part of the water receiving part 1. A thin wire 3 is made to protrude from an opening part 2' and attached along the inner wall of the water guide pipe 2. An air exhausting part 4 for exhausting the air remaining in the water guide pipe 2 is provided. In this constitution, the water reaching the opening part 2' from the water receiving part 1 is guided with the thin pipe 3 by the action of surface tension. The water enters into the water guide pipe 2 smoothly. The falling water droplets are counted by using a current linking needle 5 or by an optical means. In this way, the precipitation intensity can be measured continuously.
