PURPOSE: To provide a flow measuring device and method for humor in the blood vessel in which effects of the position are reduced, and a catheter to be used in same device. ;CONSTITUTION: A first ultrasonic wave converter T1, a second ultrasonic wave converter T2, a third ultrasonic wave converter T3, and a fourth ultrasonic wave converter T4 are supported on a catheter, the first, second, and third converters compose a first converter group, and the first, second, and fourth converters compose a second converter group. An instrumentation means is connected to the converters T1-T4. The instrumentation means receives signals from the converters T1-T4, measures flow distribution of liquid in a blood vessel by Doppler shift, and determines the diameter of the vessel close to the converter. The instrumentation means is capable of determining which of the first converter group and the second converter group provides more correct speed distribution measurement and diameter measurement of the blood vessel.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO
