DROP-SHAFT FOR THE DISTRIBUTION OF FLUID LOOSE MATERIAL, ESPECIALLY FODDER, ONTO FODDER CHANNELS OF A CAGE BATTERY FOR LIVESTOCK

A drop-shaft (1) is used to distribute fluid loose material, especially fodder, on at least one and preferably several superimposed fodder channels (6) fitted with a supply system of a single, but preferably multi-level, cage battery for livestock, especially poultry. The drop-shaft (1) has an upper intake aperture (2) and horizontal apertures in the shaft walls for each fodder channel (6). To prevent the formation of bridges in the feed there are projecting deflectors (5) in the drop-shaft (1) inclined in the direction of fall of the loose material. Each deflector is a flat plate component surrounded about some 3/4 of its periphery by adjacent shaft walls (4) inclined at an angle of 20 to 45° to the shaft (1). At least one deflector (5) is arranged above each fodder channel (6) in such a way that a free edge of the deflector (5) lies against the edges of the open-topped fodder channel (6) to form a doctor blade.
