PURPOSE: To apply a uniform auxiliary magnetic field from the inner peripheral side to the outer peripheral side of a disk by shaping the end section located at the inner and outer peripheral sides of a magneto-optical disk at the end face of a magnetic pole, to be lower than the center section of the end face of the magnetic pole. ;CONSTITUTION: The lengths of permanent magnets 13a and 13b in a left and a right directions provided on a supporting body 11 are set so that they are approximately equal to the distance between the innermost peripheral track and the outermost peripheral track of a magneto-optical disk 14 and the left and the right end sections are formed into an R shape. In such constitution, by rotating an axis 12 by 180 degrees, the direction of the magnetic flux applied to the disk 14 is switched. Since the left and the right end faces of the magnets 13a and 13b are made into an R shape and set lower than the center section, a uniform auxiliary magnetic field is applied from the inner peripheral side to the outer peripheral side of the disk 14.
