PURPOSE:To decide a density predicting expression under a small calculation load to practically sufficiently reduce density difference between a predictive reproducible color and a real color at the method and device for predicting multicolor image reproducible color density and the device for deciding the reproducible color density predicting expression. CONSTITUTION:Based on primary color main density (c), (m) and (y) obtained from sample data, predictive density values Dr, Dg and Db calculated from multiple regression model expressions and average color difference dE on equal color spatial coordinates to actually measured reproducible color density values Dr, Dg and Db actually measured from the sample data are calculated, explanation parameters are successively selected one by one from explanation parameter candidate groups c2, m2 and y2... and integrated into the multiple regression model expressions so that the average color difference dE can be lower than target color difference set in advance, and when it is lower than the target color difference, the multiple regression model expression is decided as the predictive transforming expression of the reproducible color density values.
