PURPOSE: To prevent a calamity and treat an erupted matter by a method wherein dam-like articles obtained by dividing a ship are arranged on a hillside, the insides of the dam-like articles are supplied with water while a volcanic erupted matter is housed into the dam-like articles and the dam-like articles are transferred from a soil-sand discharge pipe to a desired zone. ;CONSTITUTION: A ship dam 3, in which a ship is divided and a partition wall is mounted, is installed in a safety zone 2 on the reverse side of a dangerous zone 1. A soil-sand discharge pipe 14 and a feed water pipe 5 are set up to the dam 3, and water is stored in the dam. A crater somma 6 is cut in a V shape in the direction of the dam 3, and a pyroclastic flow, the avalanche of sand and stone, etc., are flowed into the dam 3 while being carried out to a desired zone through the discharge pipe 14. Carried soil and sand are selected and utilized as gravel sand, or a pipe is piped into the dam 3 and connected to a hot-water supply tank.
