PURPOSE:To remove a halogenated hydrocarbon and chlorine even from hot water of =40 deg.C and to prevent the propagation of microorganisms by constituting the filter of wool fiber bodies subjected to a degreasing treatment and a fibrous protein obtainable from green algae and/or brown algae. CONSTITUTION:The hot water which is heated with an electric water heater 7 and is discharged from a discharge port is mixed with city water 14 in a mixing faucet 13 and is regulated to an adequate temp. The hot water regulated to the adequate temp. passes the filter 6, by which the halogenated hydrocarbon and chlorine are removed therefrom and the clean water is obtd. The halogenated hydrocarbon dissolved in the water is adsorbed and removed by the wool fiber bodies 4 when the hot water enters the inside of the filter 6 from an inflow port 2. On the other hand, the propagation of the microorganisms in the filter 6 is prevented by the effect of the fibrous protein 5.
