OVERRUN PREVENTER OF POSITIVE CRANKCASE VENTILATION TYPE DIESEL ENGINE

PURPOSE: To stop an engine so smoothly when the engine tries to overrun due to an increment of blow-by gas quantity, in reference to an overrun preventer of a positive crank-case ventilation type diesel engine. ;CONSTITUTION: A speed detector 12 is adjoined to a turning shaft 11 of an engine E, and an on-off valve 4 is installed in an intake passage 1. This speed detector 12 is interlocked with a valve driving means 5 of the on-off valve 4, and when the detected engine speed N of the speed detector 12 becomes more than the setting speed NO, the on-off valve 4 is closed by operation of the valve driving means 5 whereby the intake passage 2 is constituted so as to be interrupted. When a blow-by gas quantity turning to fuel replacement is markedly increased due to wear and damage to a piston ring and the diesel engine E tries to overrun, an overspeed state in the tuning shaft 11 of the engine E is detected by the detector 12, and since the on-off valve 4 intercepts the intake passage 1, the diesel engine E is stopped at once, thus any possible overrun is prevented from occurring.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
