PURPOSE: To obtain a control system by which solid-liquid separation in a flocculating sedimentation tank in water treatment is easily made. ;CONSTITUTION: A sensor 10 for detecting sludge concentration is installed facing an allowable upper limit position 6A of a sludge separation interface level in a flocculating sedimentation tank 12. Sludge concentration is continuously measured by the sensor 10 for detecting sludge concentration to detect a top zone of the sludge separation interface and simultaneously secular change of the sludge concentration is grasped. When the detected value of the sludge concentration is compared with the prescribed reference of the sludge concentration to find that the former tends to increase and is not less than the latter, sludge contg. water is discharged from the bottom part of the flocculating sedimentation tank 12 to make a sludge separation interface 6 level fall so that it may be lower than the sensor 10 for detecting sludge concentration.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
