PURPOSE: To easily set the release timing by engaging the detecting sensor of transmitting shaft rotating angle with the pilot release cam fixedly attached to the driving shaft which synchronously rotates with the press crank shaft. ;CONSTITUTION: In a pilot release device that a pilot release cam 6 is fixedly attached to a driving shaft 3 which synchronously rotates with a press crank shaft, a top of spindle supporting pivotably a cam lever 10 is made to the eccentric shaft, and a lifting arm 13 connected to an upper roller 21 is loosely fit on them. And a sensor 37 for detecting the rotating angle of a transmitting shaft 33 is provided by engaging a worm wheel 33 fixedly attached to the spindle with a worm 34 of a transmitting shaft 33 connected to a motor 30.
