PURPOSE: To decrease discharge at a coupling hole of a cavity resonator and to reduce wavelength of a radiation X-ray by providing two coupling holes coupled with an exciting waveguide to a side face of the waveguide apart by a distance of nearly a half of a guide wavelength. ;CONSTITUTION: Two coupling holes 3 are placed apart by a half wavelength and a distance between the coupling hole 3 and a short circuit plate of a waveguide 2 is selected to be 1/4 wavelength and they are magnetically coupled. Number of the coupling holes 3 is selected to be two to halve the required passing power per one coupling hole and an electric field caused in the coupling hole is halved. Since the coupling holes 3 are placed to the side face of the waveguide 2, the coupling magnetic field in this case is nearly 90% and it is required to select the diameter to be a multiple of 1.1 to obtain the same coupling degree and the passing power density per hole is nearly a multiple of 0.8. Thus, the electric field caused in the coupling hole per hole is 60% of a conventional electric field.
