NORMALIZING DEVICE FOR BANK NOTES POSITIONED AT IRREGULAR INTERVALS

PURPOSE:To improve reliability on discrimination of a bank note in its after-process and on delivery of bank notes, to save man power required for processing bank notes, and to increase a bank not processing speed by correcting an interval between the adjacent bank notes of conveyed bank notes when the interval is below an allowable value. CONSTITUTION:Sensing of interval abnormality and detection of any abnormal interval are effected by an abnormality detecting part 2. Based on detection of interval abnormality, a switch gate 3 is operated to separate bank notes, the interval between which is abnormal, from a regular conveyance passage and transferred to the regressive conveyance passage side serving as a side passage. After the abnormal interval is corrected to a value exceeding an allowable value by means of a correcting part 4 installed on the regressive conveyance passage, those bank notes are joined to the upper stream side of a conveyance passage in their way to return there to. For example, the abnormality detecting part 2 comprises one or two transmission type photo sensors and the correcting part 4 comprises a conveyance roller, and only the rear one out of those bank notes the interval between which is abnormal is stopped only for a time equivalent to a deviation from an allowable value for abnormal interval.
