PURPOSE: To provide an angular moment compensating device enabling avoiding functioning as a generator by a motor of drive which is a defect in conventional technology with an expense for a sure and limited structure in a method for compensating the angular moment of drive to make a roll stand of a Pilger mill, above all a cold Pilger mill, execute reciprocating motion through a crank transmission gear. CONSTITUTION: A variation of speed of rotation of the crank transmission gear obtained by a computer from kinematic parameters, masses moved and external loads is beforehand given to a driving generator as a variation of target number of rotation.
