HIGH-PURITY ACID-INSOLUBLE FISH SCALE COLLAGEN AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject collagen without contamination by blood, proteins, etc., and a method for producing the collagen. ;CONSTITUTION: An acid-insoluble fish scale collagen is obtained by treating fish scales with an acidic aqueous solution. Furthermore, the objective method is composed of a step for deashing the fish scales and a step for treating the deashed fish scales with an acidic aqueous solution and separating insoluble collagen.
