PURPOSE: To enable sufficient cooling of a block core even by use of a gas such as SF6 as an insulating cooling medium. ;CONSTITUTION: A plurality of block cores 1a are piled up via magnetic gaps 7 to constitute a main core leg 1, and this main core leg 1 is provided outside with an insulating cylinder 4 with a suitable interval and fitted with a winding 5 in its outer periphery. Further, the main core leg 1 is topped and bottomed with yokes to assemble a reactor body, which is then stored into a container interior filled with an insulating cooling medium. Such a gapped-core type reactor is provided with a plurality of holes 11 at positions on inflow and outflow sides of coolant of the insulating cylinder 4 respectively in pileup directions of block cores 1a to form an insulating cylinder cooling channel so that the insulating cooling medium may be released through a winding cooling channel, an insulating cylinder cooling channel, and magnetic gaps 7 between block cores from one coolant inflow side to the other coolant inflow side.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
