BUNSEN-SCHILLING TYPE SPECIFIC GRAVITY MEASURING INSTRUMENT

PURPOSE: To provide a Bunsen-Schilling type specific gravity measuring instrument which can surely and automatically measure the specific gravity of a gas in a short time without human intervention. ;CONSTITUTION: An inner cylinder 8 is put in an outer cylinder 7 filled up with water, with the cylinder 8 being communicated with the cylinder through the bottom of the cylinder 8, and air or sample gases 19A-19D are selectively introduced into the cylinder 8 through change-over valves 17-19. The air or gases introduced into the cylinder 8 are made to flow out through an orifice 33 and the time required by a fixed amount of the air or gases flowing out through the orifice 33 is measured. The flowing out of the gas between a lower and upper bench marks M and N is detected from the signal of an optical sensor and subjected to correction, etc., based on a calculation formula stored in a ROM 12 together with the detected water temperature. Then the specific gravity S of the dry sample gas is calculated and outputted.
