GUIDE VANE SEAL DEVICE FOR WATER TURBINE AND REVERSIBLE PUMP

PURPOSE:To ensure a seal effect even for any guide vane opening by forming a seal member, arranged in covers of a water turbine and a reversible pumpturbine, into a shape corresponding to a rotational range of a guide vane so as to improve seal performance. CONSTITUTION:A metal seal piece 22 serving as a seal member is mounted on a sheet liner 7 between guide vane stems 6, and this seal piece 22 is formed into a fan shape corresponding to a locus from a fully closed condition to a fully opened condition of a guide vane 2 in its suction and delivery sides. A head part of the seal piece 22 is protruded from a surface of the sheet liner 7 so as to be brought into press contact with an end face of the guide vane 2. An elastic material 23 energizes this seal piece 22 to an end part side of the guide vane 2 and also to seal the seal piece 22 over its reverse side full length. In this way, since a seal effect is ensured without disturbing a main flow even in the case of any opening/closing condition of the guide vane, water turbine efficiency and pump turbine efficiency can be improved.
