DOUBLE-HULLED VESSEL CONSTRUCTION HAVING VERTICAL DOUBLE-WALLED LONGITUDINAL BULKHEAD

PURPOSE: To facilitate cleaning while enhancing rigidity of hull by providing each longitudinally successive module of a longitudinally midbody for a double- walled tanker with a longitudinal double-walled bulkhead extending between the top and bottom walls of the module. ;CONSTITUTION: This longitudinal double-walled bulkhead 10 is assembled of a plurality of first and second wall panels 12, 14, and a plurality of reinforced flat panel 16 and when it is planned such that the cells 38 of the bulkhead 10 adjacent in the vertical direction are interconnected, a large number of lightening hole 40 are made in the plate panel 32 between them. Lateral bulkheads 52 are constructed on the opposite sides of the bulkhead 10 and the joints 66 are welded to constitute a single module 68 and a longitudinal central bulkhead 70 is constructed by arranging a plurality of unit modules 68 successively in the longitudinal direction.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO
