CASTABLE REFRACTORY FOR FURNACE CONTAINING GASEOUS ATMOSPHERE

PURPOSE: To obtain a castable refractories excellent in atmosphere controlling ability rapid changeable to a desired condition and excellent in denseness and volume stability when changing atmosphere of a continuous annealing furnace zone in accordance with annealing purpose of a material to be annealed. ;CONSTITUTION: A synthetic mullite is used as an essential aggregate and 0.1-10wt.% of a fused silica is used in a grain size range of ≥74μm, and content of an amorphous silica having ≤3μm average particle diameter and an alumina fine particle having ≤5μm particle diameter are 4-15wt.%, and the component ratio of weight is silica/alumina=0.1 to 1.0. Addition of a binder resin, dispersing agent or the like and if necessary, addition of clay, silicon carbide, carbon powder, graphite, metallic powder, metallic fiber, organic fiber, inorganic fiber or the like is optional as the conventional castable refractories.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
