PURPOSE:To automatically correct the division state of a file space due to the repetition of file extension during daily operation. CONSTITUTION:In a magnetic disk data saving process, the division state of a file area 112 is checked by using a file directory 111 and if the area is divided into plural areas, a file position alteration means 103 obtain a new continuous file area 112 and then a file data writing means 105 writes data on a saving medium and also writes the data in the new file area in the process of the normal data saving process, thus improving the file area division state. Consequently, the division state of the file space is corrected in the process of the disk data saving process without any large increase in load to maintain access efficiency.
