PURPOSE:To support decision making in actual circumstances by providing a memory for storing such data as names of objects to be detected, picture positions, three- dimensional positions, etc., and image picking-up means and performing contour pattern generation, position estimation in a three-dimensional space, etc. CONSTITUTION:An image pickup device 8 picks up the picture of a scene including an object and outputs the picture and an edge pattern included in the picture. An indicating device 6 outputs indicating information constituted of the name of the scene and the constraint of the object based on an input from an operator. An image analyzer 3 analyzes the picture of the scene based on the stored content of a storage device 7 corresponding to the indicating information and outputs analyzed results and images of the analyzed results. An integrating means 2 outputs the name of the object to the device 7 and receives the corresponding candidate definition and, at the same time, receives the analyzed results from the analyzer 3. Then the means 2 edits the analyzed results so that the results can suit to the picture of the scene outputted from the device 8 and outputs edited results. The edited results are visualized so that they can fit to the picture outputted from the device 8.
