PURPOSE: To attain phase synchronism for a delay lock loop or the like and to miniaturize a device by forming a correlation circuit employing a code series having position information in its autocorrelation. ;CONSTITUTION: Adjacent ternary M series codes are phase-shifted sequentially one by one bit so as to have a phase difference in each bit in a leading direction to form (2n-1) sets of codes, the codes are linked to generate a code series as one period by a code series generator 2 and the series is sent to correlation devices (1-0) to (1-5). Each correlation device 1 takes the correlation between an input signal and the code series. The correlation outputs of even numbered phases of the correlation devices 1-0, 1-2, 1-4 are added by an adder 3 and the correlation outputs of odd numbered phases of the correlation devices 1-1, 1-3, 1-5 are added by an adder 4. A multiplier 6 multiplies a correlation output A4 with -1 and the output is inverted and the result is added to a correlation output A3 by an adder 5. Then the difference A5 of the correlation outputs are fed to a VCO 8 as a control voltage through a loop filter 7.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
