PURPOSE:To improve ventillation efficiency, and to reduce the entire body size by forming a ventillation route for communicating a space covered with a cap as well as a shield cover with outside air in a housing, and by arranging a windbreak plate of predetermined height on the ventillation route. CONSTITUTION:When a shaft 2 is rotated synchronizing with an internal combustion engine, a rotor plate 8 integrated with the shaft is rotated in a gap 7 between an emission diode 5 and a light receiving diode 6, while an electric signal such as engine rotational number and so on is generated in a control circuit part 16. By the abovementioned electric signal, discharge is generated from a distribution rotor 11 to a side electrode 13. A shield cover 17 for preventing erroneous operation by spark noise is arranged on the upper side of the control circuit part 16. Interior gas of the distributor is guided by a windbreak plate 14b for which a part of the shield cover 17 is formed into letter L, and is discharged from a run-off port 14a to a ventillation route 14. The interior gas is guided by another windbreak plate 15b formed in the same way, and the flow rate at an inflow port 15a is increased, and outside air is lead from a ventillation route 15.
