PURPOSE: To inhibit the generation of a chattering phenomenon of a gas burner by increasing or decreasing a differential flow rate between igniting and extinction and setting the direction of increase and decrease of the differential flow rate opposite to the direction of increase and decrease of differential temperature between setting temperature and water supply temperature. ;CONSTITUTION: When the differential temperature ΔT between water supply temperature T0 and setting temperature T is small under the condition hot water is supplied near an ignition flow rate Q2, if the water supply temperature T0 detected by a noise sensor 11 is slightly changed, an extinction flow rate Q1 will be markedly fluctuated so that a gas burner 15 may be forcibly put out. However, under the condition as described above, a specified computation must be made to increase a differential Q0, thereby increasing the differential between the ignition flow rate Q2 and extinction flow rate Q1. This increased differential serves to prevent the generation of a troublesome chattering phenomenon that the gas burner 15 repeats a series of ignition and extinction at a short interval.
