GUIDE BEACON PLATE FOR RUNWAY IN AIRPORT

PURPOSE: To improve the operation reliability and the capacity in a taking-off/ landing area range by providing a controller, which can be controlled by a central computer, to display symbols on the display face of a guide beacon plate. ;CONSTITUTION: The guide beacon plate 1 which can be provided with an optical display element or a mechanical display element to show information can be used as an independent auxiliary means in relation to a beacon light device 2 in a form of a redundant auxiliary means and a stop signal beacon 3 and can be provided with an independent elapse controller connected to an internal or external sensor. Each sensor detects the position of an airplane or a vehicle or discrimination information, and each information is automatically processed by the controller in the guide beacon plate 1 and is transmitted to the central computer according to circumstances. This information is transmission is performed through the existing cable of the beacon light device 2 by an independent data transmission equipment, preferably, a radio data transmission equipment. Further, numerous guide beacon plates 1 are collected into a system which receives information for individual guide beacon plates 1 from the central computer.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO
