PURPOSE: To provide a device which emits a stable frequency-doubling laser beam with a phase-matched polarized beam of a single-frequency laser in a definitely single spectrum mode by using a nonlinear material KTP as a second harmonic generation means and allowing it to function as a stable source of green light at the time of being pumped by a near-infrared light. ;CONSTITUTION: The laser comprises a laser material 14 which emits a laser beam of a prescribed wavelength reacting to an optical pumping radiation source 12, an input mirror 16, an output coupler 18 which transmits a harmonic laser beam, elimination means (1/4 wavelength plates) 20 and 22 for eliminating spatial hole-burning in the laser material 14, a polarization means 24 for receiving and polarizing a prescribed wavelength laser beam, an optical axis 34 oriented in the direction where the phase of the polarized laser beam is matched, and a second harmonic generation means (KTP) 26 of a length for converting the polarized laser beam into a harmonic laser beam and causing a phase delay of an integral multiple of the half-wavelength of the prescribed wavelength laser beam.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO
