PURPOSE: To improve the damping capacity and thermal fatigue resistance of a steel sheet without damaging the characteristics of austenitic stainless steel. ;CONSTITUTION: On the surface of an alloy steel sheet having a compsn. contg. 0.1 to 4.0% C, ≤2.0% Si, 5 to 30% Ni, ≤Ni(%)/2.5% Mn and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities and having a dispersedly recrystalized structure of graphite, a Cr concn. layer having 16 to 30% average concn. is formed at ≥2μm per face as well as a thickness less than 1/4 than that of the sheet thickness.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
