PURPOSE: To desorb a fission iodine from a nitric acid solution containing a nuclear fuel and/or a fission product by using ozone as oxidizing gas and directly supplying at least a part of it in a gas chamber above the solution. CONSTITUTION: An ozone used also as an oxidizing gas is, by at least a part of it, directly supplied to a gas chamber above a solution. In that case, thanks to the ozone flow introduced directly in the gas chamber above the solution, the iodide dissolved in a gas atmosphere and a condensed liquid of a vessel wall is oxidized for generating an iodine, while no back flow into the solution occurs, and it reaches, favorably, a discharge gas flow as a form of element, where held almost quantitatively. In short, in secondary process, the iodine which was already freed from the solution is absorbed into the condensed liquid, and reduced, in addition, prevented from back-flowing into the solution.
