METHOD FOR QUICK DETERMINATION OF AMOUNT OF SODIUM SULFATE ADDED TO CEMENT

PURPOSE: To quickly determine the amount of added Na₂SO₄ by extracting a specimen cement and a cement free from added Na₂SO₄ with water and determining the added amount of Na₂SO₄ from the difference of Na concentrations in the extracted liquids using a calibration line prepared beforehand. ;CONSTITUTION: A raw cement and cement mixtures produced by adding various amounts of Na₂SO₄ are prepared. These cements are extracted with water and the Na concentrations in the extracts are determined by atomic absorption photometry, ion chromatography, etc., to prepare a calibration line showing the relationship between the amount of added Na₂SO₄ and the concentration difference of Na in the extracts extracted from the cement and the cement mixtures incorporated with various amounts of Na₂SO₄. The specimen cement for the determination of the added amount of Na₂SO₄ and the raw cement corresponding to the specimen cement are extracted with water and the amount of added Na₂SO₄ in the specimen cement is determined from the concentration difference of Na in the extracted liquids by using the calibration line prepared beforehand.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
