PURPOSE: To release a medicine inside the middle ear and/or the internal ear for one or several months by retaining a device containing a medicine for curing the middle ear infection in a shape capable of being inserted into the middle ear, and after insertion by expanding it without closing the middle ear space. ;CONSTITUTION: A device 10 includes a biodegradable base material 12 in which a releasing quantity effective for curing of at least one kind of pharmacological activator is introduced, and it is retained or can retain in an initial insertable shape 14 that is capable of being inserted into the middle ear 20 by operation, and on the basis of inserting into the middle ear 20, it can be expanded to the initial shape for substantially supplying the surface to be brought into contact with the wall of the middle ear 20 without substantially closing the middle ear space, and as soon as it expanded, expanded releasing of the actuator is provided to the middle ear 20. The preferable base material 12 is a polyvinyl acetate sheet of 1cm wide × 1cm length × 0.04mm thickness, and the number of holes 16 for 1cm² is preferably 30 to 40, and they are uniformly arranged at equal spaces in a diameter of 0.01mm to 0.1mm.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO
