PURPOSE: To easily and accurately perform the fitting positioning adjustment by positioning a recording magnetic head and a reproducing magnetic head into their mutual fitting positions by means of a parallelism adjustment and an effective track optimum position adjustment. ;CONSTITUTION: The device is equipped with a tape driving means C for sliding a magnetic tape onto the recording magnetic head 1 and the reproducing magnetic head 5 at the same time and a reference signal generating means B for generating a reference signal. In addition, a signal output measuring means D for measuring a recording signal output of the recording magnetic head 1 and a regenerative signal output of the reproducing magnetic head 5 and a parallelism adjusting means A for adjusting the parallelism of mutual gaps of the recording magnetic head 1 and the reproducing magnetic head 5 from an output of this measuring means D are provided as well. Thus, since the parallelism adjustment between the gaps by the parallelism adjusting means A and the effective track optimum position adjustment of the reproducing magnetic head 5 to an effective track of the recording magnetic head 1 by a track position adjusting means E can be carried out, the mutual fitting position adjustment of the magnetic heads 1 and 5 can easily and accurately be performed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
