DETECTION OF HEIGHT OF BOTTOM GROUND UNDER WATER IN UNDERWATER BOTTOM SOFT GROUND SURFACE TREATMENT

PURPOSE:To prevent the unnavigating condition of base ship and also the breakage of sheet by a method in which a sheet is laid on the ground, and when sand is spread over the sheet, floats whose lower ends are touched by the sheet are arranged and the heights of the floats are detected. CONSTITUTION:A sheet 2 is laid on the surface of the bottom soft ground 1 under water, and floats 5 whose lower ends contact the sheet are arranged along the preading direction of sand. When sand is sent out of a base ship 4, the portion where sand is spread is settled down by the weight of a sand mat layer 3, sludge 1 in front flows and is pushed up with the sheet 2, the floats 5 in places where sand mat layer 3 is formed are settled down, and the heaved portion is floated up. The height of the upper end of the float 5 is detected, and according to the results of the detection, the route of the ship 4 is changed or the ship 4 is stopped. The occurrence of unnavigating condition of the ship 4 or damage to the ship 4 due to the contact of the bottom of the ship 4 with the sheet 3 can thus be prevented.
