METHOD FOR CALCINING SMOKED ROOF TILE IN TUNNEL KILN

PURPOSE:To obtain a smoked roof tile with high yield in a uniform temp. distribution state by calcining a roof tile stock while comparatively highly maintaining the pressure in a tunnel kiln and on the other hand, keeping the pressure under a dolly so that it is not lowered at the specified value or more in comparison with the pressure in the kiln. CONSTITUTION:Calcination of the smoked roof tile is performed while maintaining the pressure in the tunnel kiln 1 for calcining the smoked roof tile at =1.0mm Ag and also keeping the pressure under the dolly 4 so that it is not lowered at =0.5mm. In this case, the antirunning plates 7 are provided to the lower part of the dolly 4 in the kiln 1 and also air blowing 6 into the sections partitioned with the plates 7 is performed and thereby regulation of the pressure under the dolly is preferably performed. Further the regulation of the pressure under the dolly is preferably performed by keeping the gap between the outlet door of the kiln 1 and the tip of the dolly 4 to =20mm and preventing the air from allowing to flow under the dolly through the gap. By the above-mentioned method, yield of a product is substantially improved and also quality unevenness if the calcined smoked roof tile can be reduced to the half than heretofore.
