ABSCISIC ACID ANALOGUE AND PLANT GROWTH-REGULATING AGENT

PURPOSE: To provide a novel abscisic acid analogue capable of being simply synthesized from natural abscisic acid, having higher plant growth-regulating activity than natural abscisic acid and extremely effective as a plant growth- regulating agent. ;CONSTITUTION: An abscisic acid analogue of formula I or II. The compound can be readily synthesized by reacting natural abscisic acid of formula III with a 7-hydroxycoumarin of formula IV or parahydroxycinnamic acid methyl ester of formula IV. The compounds of formulas I and II have the extremely high activity as the plant growth-regulating agent than, natural abscisic acid. When the compound of formula I or II is used as the plant growth-regulating agent, a solution such as an aqueous solution containing the compound in an amount of 0.1-1000mg/l is preferably sprayed in a volume of 10l/acre on the field having plants or sows therein.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
