METHOD OF EXPERIMENT WITH PIG IRON OUTLET FILLER

PURPOSE:To enable an easy and accurate judgement of the adhesive condition of a filler, by forcibly filling a burning furnace with a fixed amount of pig iron outlet filler several times to observe the condition of the filler after they are allowed to stand to cool for a fixed time. CONSTITUTION:Air is supplied into a burning furnace 1 from a tube 3 to heat and burn medium coke 10 and with the advance of a piston 7, a pig iron outlet filler 9 after cured in a storage body 5 is forced into the furnace by a fixed amount several times at a fixed time intervals from a filling port 2. This condition is kept for a fixed time and then the furnace 1 is taken part to visually observe the filler after baked and ordinary refractory tests are conducted. With such an arrangement, quality factors of the filler in the actual application state can be quantified and the stability of material and adhesive property with existing material can be determined accurately when the factors are changed.
