The invention relates to a process for the enamelling of a sheet metal article, comprising the steps of: i) pre-treating of the sheet metal article; ii) applying on a pre-treated side of a cermetemailbekleding; iii) burn-in of the applied enamel coating on the suitable firing temperatures; and iv) applying a gas-permeable, chemically resistant lacquer coating on the cermetemailbekleding, and to the resulting sheet-metal object.
