Hepatitis B core antigen (HBcAg) particles, which carry a polypeptide which presents an antigenic epitope and which are suitable for use in vaccines, are composed of HBcAg provided with a N-terminal extension incorporating a Lys residue and the said polypeptide is coupled to the particles via the side chain amino group of the Lys residue.
