A device for purifying water on rural areas subject to drainage, composed of a mechanical filter filled with a filtering bed in the form of a few layers of gravel with various grain size distribution from coarse- to fine-grained gravel with a layer of aluminium-and-sand material placed on them characterised in that, on the drainage ditches (1) draining water from the rural areas subject to drainage to receiving reservoirs, it has installed a draining filter composed of a mechanical filter (2), whose top aluminium-and-sand layer contains the sorbent of active phosphorus in the form of aluminium or iron hydroxides, and of a biofilter (3) in the form of a shallow storage reservoir overgrown with wetland vegetation, in which the remnants of the chemical substances contained in the drained water are decomposed.IMAGE
