This invention relates to substituted 1,5-pentanediols and derivatives thereof and to processes for the preparation of substituted 1,5-pentanediols and derivatives thereof. The substituted 1,5-pentanediols and derivatives thereof are useful alone or in the production of intermediates, and have utility in coatings, adhesives, inks, fibers, pharmaceutical intermediates, sealants, stereolithography, as well as in other end uses.
