Radioactivity scavenger for the fission products appearing in a nuclear fuel based on uraniferous sintered oxides during irradiation, characterised in that it comprises a stable oxygen compound, a combination of at least two metal oxides and of at least one oxide of a nonradioactive isotope of the radioactive fission product(s) whose radioactivity is to be scavenged.
