The invention concerns a conductor in an insulated overhead power line comprising a metallic conductor 1 and at least one insulation, cable protection, tarnish protection or other corresponding layer 3, 4 arranged around this conductor. In order to achieve suppression of wind vibrations by means of its internal structure, the conductor according to the invention is characterized in that on the outside it has in addition at least one flexible layer 2 placed between the metallic conductor 1 and the surrounding layer 3 or between some others of the layers 3, 4 of the conductor, which flexible layer permits movement between the axial centre lines in the conductor parts which are situated on the inside and outside of the conductor.
