The seat comprises a base support (12) with a first set of rear attachment points (13) and second attachment points at the rear (17) for a seat shell (11) situated opposite to the transverse plane holding the pilot-seat unit's vertical barycentre. Corresponding to the first set of attachment points is a hinge on the transverse axis inside which the seat shell is free to rotate in relation to the support. The second attachment points are equipped with supports and reversers, with prefixed resistance, to allow the shell to rotate, through subsidence, inside the hinge axis and setting it down sub-horizontally.
