EDIBLE LUBRICANT WITH THE ADDITION OF LUBRICANT-IMPROVING ESTERS FROM FATTY ACIDS AND HIGHER ALCOHOLS

Edible lubricant for high-pressure compressors for producing high-pressure polyolefins. The latter is required for films used as packaging material for foods. The lubricant according to the invention is a mixture consisting of from 40 to 60% of white oil and/or from 60 to 40% of polybutene and/or polyisobutene and at least two edible additives for improving the lubricity which are saturated fatty acid esters of higher alcohols containing at least two alcohol groups, where the sum of the contents of these additives totals from 0.1 to 3.0% by weight. At least one additive consists of an ester of this type containing at least one free alcohol group. Unsaturated castor oil can also be employed as additive. The lubricant contains from 0.05 to 2.0% by weight of at least one antioxidant, for example an edible anisole derivative and/or an edible pentaerythritol fatty acid ester derivative in a total of from 0.05 to 2.0% by weight. The lubricant contains a metal deactivator approved for this purpose, for example a succinimide derivative or an amino acid derivative, such as N- acylsarcosane, with a total content of from 0.005 to 0.5% by weight.
